August 2008

Congratulations to Sheila Bennion, MBA, BSN, RN, CCM, she recently published an article in the July/August edition of Case Management - Overcoming Barriers for a Successful Return to Work.

Congratulations to Wendie Howland, RN, MN, CRRN, CCM CMSNE member who won the 2008 Caseinpoint Writing contest.  An unedited version of her article can be found in this edition of the newsletter.

Congratulations to the following members for their participation in the CMSA Conference in Orlando this past June:

Peter Moran and Laura Huber from MGH presented a session on ED Overcrowding : It's Not Just An ED Issue, Sandra Lowery and Margaret St. Coeur, presented a 2 day pre-conference session on Preparing for Case Management Certification, Sandra Lowery also presented a breakout session on Training the Case Manager: Creating Experts.  Presenting Poster Sessions were Christine Dubuc, Beacon Health Strategies,  Enhanced Case Management Through Information Technology: A Recipe for Success; Christine Greenwood, Maria Seavey and Kathleen Walsh, from MGH, New Innovations in Emergency Department (ED) Discharge Planning and Pamela Tobichuk and Barbara Donovan also from MGH, Utilizing a Pre-Admission Tool to Improve Inpatient Discharge Process.   Recognized for their board participation was Teri Treiger, Director, Cheryl Humphrey, Chapter President’s Council and of course Peter Moran as he handed over the gavel after his extremely productive term as CMSA President came to an end.    Carol Gleason was also recognized for her work on the Health Policy Committee.

June 2008

Congratulations to Annette Watson, RN, CCM, MBA who was recently elected to serve a four year term as a Commissioner at the Commission for Case Management Certification.
