Keynote Speaker
Dr. Bohdan Pomahac was born and raised in the Czech Republic where he graduated from Palacky University School of Medicine. He trained at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) in General Surgery and then went on to a fellowship in the Harvard Plastic Surgery Program. In 2004, Dr. Pomahac joined the staff at BWH as a Plastic Surgeon and Associate Director of the Burn Center, and in 2009 became the BWH Burn Center Director while also performing a broad range of plastic surgical and microsurgical procedures.

Dr. Pomahac established the Plastic Surgery Transplantation Program at BWH. He led the nation's first male face transplant procedure in April 2009 and in the fall of 2009 he was awarded a $3.4 million dollar contract from the Department of Defense to perform and investigate the outcomes of face transplantation. In March of 2011 he led the surgical team that performed the first full face transplant in the country, and in April of 2011, the team performed their second full face transplant. As principal investigator of both the face and hand transplantation studies, Dr. Pomahac is currently working on several grants and clinical protocols as well as preparing patients for face and hand transplantation. His clinical interests include facial reconstruction, burn reconstruction, and microsurgery.

Key Points of Meeting Registration Policy

You must be a member of CMSNE to participate in the pre-registration program. Non-members will not be pre-registered.

If a member pre-registers for a CMSNE program with intent to pay at the door, s/he must cancel their registration within 12 business hours of the event or will be held responsible for payment.

If a CMSNE member registers for a free program and fails to cancel their registration in accordance with the policy, s/he will be assessed the non-member rate.

Individuals not complying with CMSNE cancellation policy will be sent a letter requesting payment for the program.

Failure to remit payment for the program, will result in the individuals inability to register for future CMSNE programs without advance payment.
