February 2008

Case Manager of the Year and Scholarship Committee

Sue Bartlett, LCSW, CRC, Committee Chairperson

Please think about your colleagues and decide who you believe deserves your nomination to be ”Case Manager of the Year” in 2008!!! The minimum criteria for this award are two years active membership in CMSNE and five years of current work experience in Case Management. Do not be shy, you are encouraged to nominate yourself as well as peers and esteemed others.

The Case Management Society of New England (CMSNE) will provide up to 6 scholarships per year, not to exceed $500.00 each, total scholarships per year not to exceed $3,000.00. Applications for scholarships can be for participation in local, regional and national workshops/conferences, self-study courses, graduate school, review course or certification exam. Applicants must be current members of CMSNE. The committee will accept applications throughout the year and will review each application and respond to the applicant, within 30 days of the application’s receipt in the Chapter office. Please forward your applications to Maureen Ferguson; all six scholarships are still available for 2008.   Download a scholarship application.

The fund continues to be replenished through fundraising efforts. We have a wonderful raffle each year and give prizes including conference registrations and other items and gifts donated by Vendors and Supporters throughout the region. Nancy Benoit contacted Law Publishers and they are donating a registration to the 2009 Workers Comp Summit Conference, held annually at Sugarloaf Resort in Maine, (a $350.00- $375.00 value). Sandi Lowery has again donated a complimentary Case Management Certification Prep Course valued at $265.00. Liz Dumas will be approaching the publishers for donated copies of the Physicians Desk Reference. We are offering quarter page ads in our conference brochure and opportunities for newsletter articles as incentives for donations. We will be initiating our raffle ticket sales at the March 12, 2008 Building Strategies Conference. We hope to increase raffle ticket sales at chapter meetings and other gatherings throughout the 2008 year prior to our annual conference. Please send ideas for donations to members of the Committee through Maureen Ferguson. Thank you on behalf of the CMOY and Scholarship Committee.

If you are an active CMSNE member and would like to be considered for a scholarship you need to review the eligibility requirements and complete the application process.
